As of half time, Manchester United are leading 1 goal ahead of Arsenal. A sole goal by Rooney, just before the whistle.
I have to say though, Manchester United have the worst player I have seen so far in their team. He tries to get another fellow professional to get into the referee’s book, he acts, rolls on the ground when challenged, but walks away instantly after Fabregas gets a yellow. Pushes Fabregas when they both goes to ground.
Yes, its Anderson I am talking about. Its utterly despicable play, and disgusting to see him play on the pitch. In fact, he doesn’t really contribute much to the game except getting the game in confusion.
Aside from those unsightly behavior, the game has been fantastic so far. Lots of possession by the home side. The only goal by half time was courtesy of a deflection off Gallas.
After 3 minutes into the second half, a great play from Arsenal, resulting in a goal by Fabregas. Amazing determination by Adebayor, whose shot was blocked by Van der Sar. But it was wiped in again into the middle to Fabregas. All he had to do was to avoid Ferdinand’s feet and the left post. Fabregas showed great composure and calmly slotted home the equalizing goal.
On the 56th minute, there was a ‘retribution’ for Anderson, when he nudged Flamini on the edge of the box, and Flamini clutched to his arm while falling. Its just bad karma on Anderson’s side. Fortunately for him and Manchester United, Fabregas’s free kick was saved by Van der Sar.
10 minutes before full time, Manchester United grabs the lead again through Ronaldo. Excellent play set up by substitute Saha. He made a glorious clever pass to Evra, who made an unstoppable run, and passing to Ronaldo, who finished it off with a great shot past Alumnia.
With 3 mintues of extra time, Arsenal made it 2 - 2 , by William Gallas. A great strike by the captain. Outstanding determination by the home team to earn the equalizer, and the precious 1 point in the table. It was initially missed by the referee. However, it was spotted by the referee’s assistant, that the ball went into the net, but was palmed away by Van der Sar.
Excellent excellent game by both teams.
